Assam GFBOP Hathikuli 712

The name Hathikuli is derived from the Asamese word “Hati (elephant) and “Kuli” (frequent). Therefore “Hathikuli” describes a place frequented by elephants.

As part of the company’s corporate social responsibility , in the year 2007 it was decided to convert 160 Ha of the estate to organic. In 2008, the state with a total of 467 HA was converted to organic cultivation making it a largest land conversion under organic tea in India.

One Cert Asia is the certifying body for Hathikuli Tea Estate and is accredited by APEDA (Agricultural & Processed Food Products Export Development Authority).

Hathikuli Tea Estate has its own bio-product unit for preparation of different herb extrats collected from nearby jungle which are being used as organic pesticides against various types of insects and diseases.
