More information

Huping Mountain covers an area of about 60.000 hectares, and its highest peak reaches 2.098 7 m.a.s.l., making it the second-highest in Hunan. The mountain's terrain is quite unique—high around the edges and lower in the center—shaped like the mouth of a pot, which is where its name, “Huping,” comes from. This region is ecologically significant: it’s one of the world’s 200 key ecological zones, a national nature reserve, and a provincial eco-tourism demonstration área.

This Mao Jian is a clear example of fine tea of high Quality which artisans in China know how to produce since time immemorial. Mao Jian can be translated as “fury bud” making reference to those tender and rich buds of an emerald color covered by white fur (trichomes) that protect them from insects.

Once the leaves are picked they are rolled and dried in pans or woks.
